It has been scientifically proved that diet plays a
major role in controlling the levels of blood pressure. But before
expatiating on low blood pressure diet it is imperative to know
something about low blood pressure.
Blood
pressure is a pressure applied to the arteries, within your body, by the
bloodstream as your heart pumps the blood through your body. Generally,
when the blood pressure goes down the normal range of blood pressure,
you are said to have low blood pressure. But what is a normal blood
pressure? There are no fixed parameters for normal blood pressure. This
is because blood pressure varies from people to people. 120/80 mm/Hg is
considered as normal blood pressure reading.
Controlling blood
pressure is important because a high or a low blood pressure can prove
fatal. One way to control blood pressure is by controlling what you eat.
Nutrients:
Low
blood pressure is generally caused by malnutrition. So, eating a proper
diet, rich in protein, vitamin B complex, and vitamin C is extremely
essential. Particularly, pantothenic acid has been found to be very
beneficial in the treatment and prevention of low blood pressure.
Drink
more water and less alcohol:
Drink as many glasses of water as
you can and avoid the consumption of alcohol. Alcohol is dehydrating
agent and can lower your blood pressure thus.
Eat small, low
carbohydrate meals:
You should eat small portions of low
carbohydrate meals several times a day. This will prevent the
development of low blood pressure. Also restrict the intake of
high-carbohydrate foods to prevent low blood pressure.
Salt:
The
use of salt is valuable in low blood pressure. Until the blood pressure
reaches normal levels through proper dietary and other remedies, it is
essential that you take salty foods and half a teaspoon of salt in water
daily.
Fruits:
A fruit diet should be a part of the
treatment regimen for you. Fruits help raise your blood pressure. If you
take milk along with fruits, it would be an added advantage.

diet alone can help you fight this condition. Exercising along will
fasten the results!
