The number of deaths that high blood pressure has caused in US in recent times is really alarming. It has become essential that the Americans now learn the ways to keep their health safe and free from this silent killer. A lot of methods have been implemented by American Heart Association National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to curb the disease and a lot of people have been made aware of things related to BP. One such important factor is Chart of normal blood pressure showing the various ranges of blood pressure that an individual can have at a given time.

Importance of a chart of pressure:
The blood pressure charts help a person to learn the details of blood pressure readings which show all the details of blood pressure- ranges that are normal, vulnerable, and highly dangerous. A blood pressure chart usually shows four readings from normal to stage-2 high blood pressure. Some charts are capable of showing both the hypertension and hypotension readings.

Another important factor of a chart of a normal blood pressure is that it shows what one should do if the readings are high or low. Here is a sample of blood pressure chart.

1) Systolic reading: Below 120 mm Hg    
Diastolic reading: Below 80 mm Hg
Category to which it falls: It’s normal blood pressure
What one should do? : You should maintain a very healthy lifestyle. Try to incorporate some exercise.
       
2) Systolic reading: Between 120-139 mm Hg
Diastolic reading: Between 80-89 mm Hg
Category to which it falls: Its prehypertension
What one should do? : You should maintain a healthy lifestyle. Try to incorporate some exercise. Take less salt in your food and avoid heavy drinking and quit smoking.

3) Systolic reading: Between 140-159 mm Hg
Diastolic reading: Between 90-99 mm Hg
Category to which it falls: Its stage 1 hypertension.
What one should do? : You should seek the advice of a doctor for medications. Maintain a healthy lifestyle along with physical workouts. Take less salt in your food and avoid heavy drinking and quit smoking.

4) Systolic reading: 160 or more mm Hg
Diastolic reading: More than 100 mm Hg
Category to which it falls: Its stage 2 hypertension.
What one should do? : You should seek the advice of a doctor for medications. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Take care of your diet and activities, try to keep stress free and give up smoking and drinking.
