Refer A Person With High Blood Pressure |
|
|
|
The heart pumps blood to all parts of the
body in vessels called arteries. Blood pressure is the force of the
blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. Each time the heart
beats, it pumps out blood into the arteries. When the heart is at rest,
between beats, your blood pressure falls. Due to clogged arteries, the
heart pumps the blood out with difficulty, raising the blood pressure in
the process. For further details about different stages, read What Causes
Hypertension
At what stages to refer a
person with high blood pressure is not easy to make out. It is because
the symptoms of high blood pressure are not noticeable. It is hard to
get what causes high blood pressure. Blood pressure monitors will help
you keep track of blood pressure readings on a regular basis. The
following are the stages of high blood pressure-
Normal:-
Systolic/Diastolic-119 mm Hg or below/ 79 mm Hg or below
Pre hypertension-Systolic/Diastolic-120–139
mm Hg/ 80–89 mm Hg
Stage 1 high blood pressure:-
Systolic/Diastolic-140–159
mm Hg/90–99 mm Hg
Stage 2 high blood pressure:-
Systolic/Diastolic-160
mm Hg or higher/ 100 mm Hg or higher
The wise thing to do is to
check your blood pressure regularly through blood pressure monitor and
digital blood pressure cuffs. Blood pressure levels have to be
maintained at normal blood pressure. If you suffer from any of the
following, immediately consult a doctor.
1) A sudden, severe
headache.
2) Chest pain (angina).
3) Symptoms of a stroke or
transient ischemic attack (TIA).
