How to Lower Blood Pressure Before Testing |

A common policy among all employers is to test their
potential employees before appointing them. For this the candidate is
made to undergo certain tests like – drug tests, blood pressure test,
and diabetes tests. In such a scenario it becomes imperative to clear
the test and thus the knowledge as to how to lower blood pressure
before testing is important. The idea is to present oneself as a
healthy prospective employee whose health would not be an issue.
There are certain precautions when taken, will give you lowered
readings of blood pressure. First and foremost, it is important to be
stress-free regarding the testing itself. This procedure of testing can
bring on unwanted stress which can act as a precursor to elevating
blood pressure.
Staying calm and collected is the mantra here.
One week before the testing, visit a doctor and get
your blood pressure checked. If you have high blood pressure, ask your
doctor to prescribe some common medicines that have quick action in
lowering the blood pressure. Medications should only be taken under
medical advice. Self-medication can have unwanted side effects
including elevated blood pressure itself. If you know the time of the
testing, try and have your meal or breakfast at least three to four
hours before the schedule testing time.
For a few days preceding the test, avoid too much coffee and aerated
drinks. But, take care not to approach the test on an empty stomach.
Climbing stairs will increase your heart beat and breathing, thus the
readings may be elevated. Therefore, try using the lift or an elevator
for reaching the floor on which testing is to be conducted. After
climbing the stairs, rest for at least 15-20 minutes. These are just a
few tips to control as to how to lower blood pressure before testing,
but if a person is suffering from a chronic hypertension, then this
advice may be of little use.
