High blood pressure is defined as the force of blood
against the walls of your blood vessels or arteries. Narrow or clogged
blood vessels also raise your blood pressure. High blood pressure will
make your heart work harder leading to damage in the blood vessels.
Damage to the blood vessels in the kidneys mean build up of extra fluid
in the body. Extra fluid in the blood vessels, in turn mean raise in the
high blood pressure and kidney disease. For more details read Can
Kidney Stone Cause High Blood Pressure.
Kidney failure can only be detected through medical tests. Certain blood
tests will show whether your kidneys are removing wastes efficiently.
One such test measures your serum creatinine. Having too much creatinine
in your blood is a sign that you have kidney damage.
Another test
measures the serum creatinine to estimate the main kidney function
called glomerular filtration rate, or GFR. Another sign is proteinuria,
or protein in your urine. Proteinuria has also been shown to be
associated with heart disease and damaged blood vessels.
High blood pressure and kidney disease means blood pressure should be below
below 130/80. For blood pressure measurements, you can take the help of
blood pressure monitor and digital blood pressure cuffs. Heart rate and
blood pressure have to be maintained properly. Blood pressure readings
or blood pressure units have to be maintained for treatment of blood
pressure. Normal blood pressure is better, even low blood pressure is
good, but certainly not high blood pressure.
