For a few days preceding the test, avoid too much coffee and aerated drinks. But, take care not to approach the test on an empty stomach. Climbing stairs will increase your heart beat and breathing, thus the readings may be elevated. Therefore, try using the lift or an elevator for reaching the floor on which testing is to be conducted. After climbing the stairs, rest for at least 15-20 minutes. These are just a few tips to control as to how to lower blood pressure before testing, but if a person is suffering from a chronic hypertension, then this advice may be of little use. |
