| Blood Pressure Reading Scale |
|
Now let us come to the blood pressure readings scale. Blood pressure is measured on the basis of the diastolic and systolic. When the heart pumps out blood, the pressure is different at different times. When this pressure is the highest, it is called systolic pressure and when it is lowest i.e. the moment it takes rest it is called diastolic pressure. If your readings are lower than 120/80, then you have low blood pressure and if they are between 120/80 and 140/90 then it is quite normal. But if they are above 140/90, then you have high blood pressure. If your pressure is between 120 and 139 then this is called prehypertension. An interesting thing about blood pressure readings scale is that they are the lowest when we sleep and highest when we get excited and nervous. |
