Usually, if the count of your systolic blood pressure is 140 or higher than that, your heart has to apply much more force to pump the blood out in the arteries. At that time, it runs the risk of breaking down. At that time, one might have a heart attack.

Therefore, systolic blood pressure has to be strictly monitored in case of patients who have shown fluctuation in the count of their blood pressure in past. Apart from that, the symptom of high systolic blood pressure count is seen as the warning sign of cardiovascular ailments. Therefore, controlling systolic blood pressure has become a recent method for preventing cardiac problems. In a recent statistical study of patients suffering from blood pressure problems, it has been found that monitoring systolic blood pressure count alone has been helpful in determining the stage of the problem in more then 99 % of the cases.
