| Diastolic Blood Pressure and How to Deal with Its Fluctuations |
|
Blood pressure can be read as 130 above 90 or 130/90 where 130 refers to the systolic pressure and 90 refers to the diastolic pressure. Low Diastolic Blood Pressure When the diastolic pressure in the body is low, the circulating blood in the body is not in a position to bring oxygen or nutrients to the cells of the body. This also prevents removal of waste matter from the body which causes death of the body cells. Diastolic blood pressure is considered to be low when the blood pressure reading is less than 60. High Diastolic Blood Pressure When the diastolic blood pressure reading is more than 90, it is considered to be high. Under it, the blood vessels are prone to be less elastic in nature and it results in their blockage or rupturing. If the diastolic blood pressure is too high, a person is said to have high blood pressure, which is also known as hypertension. High blood pressure means that the diastolic blood pressure reading is higher than 90. A person with a diastolic blood pressure reading between 80 and 89 has a condition called prehypertension. Lowering Diastolic Blood Pressure People who have a high level of diastolic blood pressure need to take extra caution to ensure that the already high pressure does not exceed itself or result in serious health consequences.
