Magnesium Helps Lower Blood Pressure

According to The Journal of American Heart Association, magnesium contains components that help lower high blood pressure. A Japanese research has also claimed that magnesium brings down high blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. This research was done by National Cardiovascular Center in Osaka.

They recorded the findings of the tests carried out on 60 men and women. They examined every individual and gave them sufficient doses of magnesium that resulted in a significant lowering down of high blood pressure. Improvement in cases of both high and low blood pressure was recorded in people taking magnesium.

Magnesium and potassium play significant roles in lowering blood pressure and improving your health. However, magnesium also plays a vital role in maintaining your blood pressure at a higher level than the normal. Scientific data has proved that magnesium plays a decisive role in regulating blood flow in the arteries.

If magnesium levels in the body go down, it might result in fatal disease like kidney failure and heart attacks or strokes. Also, there is further evidence that proves that such low magnesium levels in the body leads to abnormal heart rate which later goes on to end up in heart failure. Therefore, intake of appropriate amount of magnesium is very important.

Why is magnesium an ideal choice for treating high blood pressure? It is because magnesium is a natural substance that narrows down your blood vessels and normalizes the blood flow. It also has no side effects. On the other hand, there are many drugs that work faster but they have side effects such as, fatigue, dizziness, swelling in leg and palpitation.
